Scope of this Standard
This Publicly Available Specification (PAS) specifies the maximum permissible limits of key pollutants that are found in exhaust emissions from motor vehicles. It also specifies the methods of measurement and the test equipment to be utilised in determining the levels of these key pollutants to assist in determining compliance with the requirements of this PAS. This PAS is applicable to the measurement and testing of exhaust emissions from all light and heavy motor vehicles registered and operating in Trinidad and Tobago, both on-the-road and off-the-road, It applies to motor vehicles fuelled by gasoline, diesel, compressed natural gas (CNG), and mixtures of other types of fuels. This PAS does not apply to the exhaust emissions from aircraft, boats, ships and other floating craft. This document does not provide details on traffic management, air pollution control or abatement methods and technology, nor does it specify a monitoring programme to determine compliance with the requirements of this PAS.
